Former WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes Comes To Arrow In Season 5, Episode 3 Description

If you're a fan of Arrow, WWE, or both, you'll know that Stephen Amell made quite the impact in the squared circle last year when he took part in a tag team match at SummerSlam. That came about as part of a rivalry with WWE Superstar Stardust (a.k.a. Cody Rhodes), and while it looked like a rematch was on the cards, his departure from the company has made that impossible.

If you’re a fan of Arrow, WWE, or both, you’ll know that Stephen Amell made quite the impact in the squared circle last year when he took part in a tag team match at SummerSlam. That came about as part of a rivalry with WWE Superstar Stardust (a.k.a. Cody Rhodes), and while it looked like a rematch was on the cards, his departure from the company has made that impossible.

However, the two will once again come to blows in the third episode of Arrow‘s fifth season as Rhodes has landed his first major acting gig since leaving the WWE. He’ll be playing a formidable drug dealer in The CW series who may have some metahuman abilities if the brief glimpse we got of him in that recent trailer was any indication.

For more on what to expect from this episode of Arrow, here’s the newly released description for “A Matter of Trust.”

Now that Oliver (Stephen Amell) has his new team, they are ready to hit the streets but Oliver doesn’t feel they are ready. Headstrong Wild Dog (guest star Rick Gonzalez) defies the Green Arrow’s orders and sets out on his own after a new drug dealer, Garret Runnels (guest star Cody Rhodes), who is terrorizing Star City. Runnels proves more powerful than Wild Dog and it is up to the Green Arrow to go head to head with Runnels to save his teammate. Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Ben Sokolowski & Emilio Ortega Aldrich.

Amell and Rhodes have raised a huge amount of money for charity with their fued in the wrestling ring, so that being carried over into Arrow should be a lot of fun to see. Since leaving WWE, he’s appeared in a number of independent promotions and is expected to make his TNA debut this Sunday. Assuming that company stays afloat, you have to believe that there’s a chance Amell could one day end up competing against his nemesis there.

For now though, they have a rematch scheduled for Arrow, and seeing how this one goes down on October 19th promises to be very interesting indeed.
