While we fully expect John Wick: Chapter 2 to be another installment of the Keanu Reeves show – they don’t call his relentless hitman Baba Yaga for nothing – Lionsgate and director Chad Stahelski have pulled together a commendable roster of supporting players.

One name that immediately springs off the page, of course, is Laurence Fishburne, and from the NYCC teaser, it seems the actor will have a bone to pick with his old Matrix confidant. Also included in the gallery above are new looks at Orange is the New Black star Ruby Rose and Riccardo Scamarcio’s goon tip-toeing gingerly through a hall of mirrors. One thing’s for sure: though Chad Stahelski has taken over at the helm for Chapter 2, the 2017 sequel is just as stylish – if not more so – than its hardboiled original.

Due to pick up right where we left off in 2014, early plot details for John Wick: Chapter 2 tease a more international affair, with Keanu Reeves’ one man army plotting course for Rome. He’s on a “social affair,” but it isn’t long before bullets fly and baddies fall. There’s also the promise of a new canine companion for Reeves’ lone wolf, and let’s all collectively hold out hope that it doesn’t suffer a similar fate as the adorable little puppy from the original.

John Wick: Chapter 2 will offer a welcome tonic to Fifty Shades Darker when Chad Stahelski’s action sequel opens on February 10, 2017. The fun doesn’t stop there, either, as Lionsgate is working closely with the filmmaker to flesh out ideas for a third entry into the cult series.
