The song is a bit of a return to form to the track that started it all for Baauer. A dirty synth lead kicks the tune off before sampled breakbeats enter the mix. Things quickly get out of hand from there, as the producer works in hard hitting 808 rhythms alongside bird call samples and a driving bassline. The presence of shouted Spanish lines makes comparisons to “Harlem Shake” inevitable, and the production definitely feels in line with the Trap work that brought Baauer to prominence in the first place.

It’s always a good day when Baauer offers up some new music, and “Paauer” ranks as a true fan pleaser, with the only complaint being that it ends way too soon.
