“Thinking About You” sets the R&B vibes straight from the get go as Hardwell layers deep piano chords under Jay Sean’s smooth vocal delivery. The energy steadily builds up throughout the verse as percussion elements join the mix, leading into an energetic drop with a bouncy bassline and churning drums, topped off with modulated vocal samples.

Like his collaboration with Craig David on “No Holding Back,” Hardwell‘s latest single injects a hefty R&B influence, resulting in a smooth dance pop sound that contrasts his more familiar electro style. The Dutch producer’s abilities fit this direction well and it’s nice to hear another example of it join his repertoire.
