It’s been two years since deadmau5 released his last full length studio effort, while(1<2), but the wait is finally drawing to a close as the producer reveals the official artwork and title for his next album. In typical deadmau5 fashion, the eighth LP from Joel Zimmerman will be titled W:/2016ALBUM, as in ‘W Drive 2016 Album.’
In addition to the album title and artwork above, deadmau5 has also finally set a release date in stone, with the record slated to arrive on December 2. W:/2016ALBUM will differ from Zimmerman’s last seven albums in that it will be his first self-released work through his mau5trap imprint.
Deadmau5 has already panned the album himself, but we have a good feeling he’s just being overly critical. Over the last year we’ve been treated to tons of great material through his live streams and SoundCloud feed, and everything we’ve heard so far leads us to believe we’re in store for some of the best deadmau5 material yet.
