Marvel’s The Defenders is currently shooting in New York City, and while we’ve already seen Jessica Jones reuniting with an old friend, she’s so far the only member of the team to have been spotted. Well, until now that is. Yesterday, Mike Colter showed his face as Luke Cage alongside Simone Missick’s Misty Knight.

The images are copyrighted, so you’ll have to head on over to Getty Images to check them out, but they show the duo walking through the city and taking a look at a burned out car which has been covered in flowers and memorials. Whether or not someone we know has been killed is unclear, but it’s interesting that the two characters seem to have made a point of stopping by. These photos also confirm that Luke Cage doesn’t spend too much time behind bars, though we all knew that he would be out in time for The Defenders, so that’s hardly a surprise.

Every image we’ve seen from the set of The Defenders so far has featured the heroes with supporting characters from their own shows, something which could point to them remaining in their own worlds for at least the first couple of episodes. With only eight instalments in total though, hopefully Netflix won’t waste too much time bringing the team together.

Uniting Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, The Defenders will reach the online streaming service at some point in 2017.
