Although DC has been dominating the small screen in recent years, we’ll certainly be able to get our Marvel fix in 2017. Not only do we have Inhumans to look forward to over at ABC, but Legion will arrive on FX as well.
Proving that Doctor Strange doesn’t have to be the only Marvel property to feature mind-bending visual effects, this new series makes a bold move in choosing to spotlight a rather unexpected character: David Haller, the son of Professor Charles Xavier. This again plays to the strength of television, as we continue to get to see heroes and villains be explored that we may never have gotten to see in the movies.
Not long ago, we were given a vague premiere date, but thankfully, today we can grant you something more specific: Wednesday, February 8 at 10 pm EST. This conveniently places the show in a time slot that avoids most top tier series on major networks – something FX has wisely done for years, often using movies as a lead-in – and allows comic book fans an hour to wind down after watching Arrow.

Based on the X-Men character created by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, Steven’s David Haller/Legion has been diagnosed as schizophrenic for the voices and more he hears and sees – emphasis on the powerful more BTW. Set in an alternative universe from the Marvel franchise, Steven’s character has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years but an encounter with a new fellow patient reveals the diagnosis might have come up a bit short of the reality and power of Legion.
