Ryan Reynolds Wants To Convince Hugh Jackman To Make A Deadpool And Wolverine Movie

This March, Hugh Jackman will hang up Wolverine‘s claws for the final time when James Mangold’s Logan arrives in theatres. Judging by what we’ve seen so far, it looks to be an incredible last outing for the character and already some early reactions have been surfacing, which point to it being one of the best X-Men movies yet.

Though Jackman has certainly accomplished a lot with Wolvie during his time playing him, there’s still one thing we’ve yet to see: a crossover with the Merc with a Mouth. Yes, we’re referring to Deadpool, who’s just getting started in his big screen career what with his first solo outing, starring Ryan Reynolds, having hit theatres back in February and Deadpool 2 currently gearing up for production.

Given that Jackman is now done with Wolvie, it’s unlikely that the two characters will ever meet on screen. That doesn’t mean Reynolds won’t try to convince the actor otherwise, though. In a recent interview with EW, he told the outlet that he’d love to have Deadpool and Wolverine in the same movie.

“I want Deapdool and Wolverine in a movie together. What we’re gonna have to do is convince Hugh. If anything, I’m going to need to do what I can to get my internet friends back on board to help rally another cause down the line.”

Of course, we have seen these two heroes in a film together before, but given that it was in the dreadful X-Men Origins: Wolverine, we’re choosing not to count it. In fact, it’d be best if everyone just forgot that the film even exists (for a reminder of why it was such a disaster, see the clip below).

In our minds, Logan and Wade Wilson have never been on screen together in proper fashion and obviously, we’d love to see it happen – as would every other fan out there. Despite that, and the fact that Reynolds and Jackman are friends in real life, it still doesn’t seem like this will ever be a reality.

Perhaps a cameo could occur, but we don’t imagine a full role for the X-Men leader materializing any time soon. Sure, Jackman may be convinced to return several years down the road, perhaps in Deadpool 3 (which will apparently introduce the X-Force), but for now, I wouldn’t hold your breath.
