Another two TV spots for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter have found their way online today, each teasing the undead thrills and spills that await Milla Jovovich’s Alice – and indeed the moviegoing masses – late next month.

Promising to unearth “the truth behind the evil,” much of the excitement swirling around The Final Chapter stems from the fact that, yes, this is very much the conclusive chapter in Alice’s story, one which directs our long-time heroine back to Raccoon City to take down the Umbrella Corporation once and for all. Even after the calamitous events of Retribution, the zombie apocalypse continues to rage on, and even from these new promos alone, it’s immediately clear that Paul WS Anderson’s grand finale is out to recapture the bleak, desolate vistas that featured early on in the Resident Evil series. Unlike, say, the futuristic aesthetic that featured across Afterlife and Retribution in particular.

Such an approach will no doubt pave the way for some impressive action sequences – both in terms of practical effects and VFX – and fans will be hoping that Resident Evil: The Final Chapter has what it takes to cap off Screen Gems’ flagship video game movie franchise in style. On board for that final voyage are Iain Glen as the malevolent Dr. Alexander Isaacs, Shawn Roberts, Ruby Rose, Eoin Macken, William Levy, Fraser James and Ali Larter, who plays the iconic Claire Redfield.

For the last time, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will unleash Jovovich’s gun-toting Alice on the undead. It’s earmarked for January 27, 2017, just in time to piggyback off the hype surrounding Capcom’s video game sequel, Resident Evil 7.
