One week on from its theatrical release, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has soared past the $400 million marker at the worldwide box office, and now sits at around $419.8 million as of Thursday, December 22.

That’s according to figures disclosed by Deadline, which reveal that Rogue One‘s overseas haul represents $197.9M of that total cume. It continues the strong momentum from the film’s opening weekend, when the Gareth Edwards-directed actioner became the fourth largest international opening of all-time for the month of December, behind only The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey ($138 million), Avatar ($164.5 million) and The Force Awakens ($281 million).

Speaking of which, it’s understood Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has collected around 50 percent of The Force Awakens‘ international haul across the same period. Disney and Lucasfilm’s first anthology movie was never expected to reach the dizzying heights of TFA, remember, but at $400 million worldwide, there’s no question that Rogue One has hit the ground running. The only question left now is, how far can Gareth Edwards’ picture go?

So, there you have it; Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has been crowned box office king for the moment, and judging by these figures, it’ll take something big to knock Gareth Edwards’ anthology movie from its perch. Providing you’ve experienced Disney’s spinoff in all its glory, be sure to check out our recap of the 10 Easter eggs you may have missed, not to mention the film’s very best moments.
