The final chapter of “The Whisperer War” will be published in this Wednesday’s The Walking Dead #162, and to help amp up the excitement, artist Charlie Adlard has now released a new preview page from the book. As you can see below, Negan is still struggling to deal with the recent loss of his iconic, barbed wire covered baseball bat, Lucille, but the rest of the survivors have more important matters to deal with.

The members of the Kingdom are scrambling to open the gates for Eugene, but what’s the rush? Well, it could have something to do with the fact that the bullet manufacturer has found a way to contact another group of survivors who are seemingly based in Ohio. Assuming they’re for real, we could see the survivors take one more step toward restoring society.

However, assuming The Whisperers will soon be dealt with, you have to believe that this group could deliver The Walking Dead‘s next big threat. Past experiences have taught us not to trust any new survivors right off the bat, and it wouldn’t be remotely surprising to see this group take advantage of the rather naive Eugene as they attempt to learn more about him and his allies.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens when the next issue of The Walking Dead goes on sale this Wednesday, but something tell us it’ll be a thrilling and fitting conclusion that’ll no doubt leave fans pleased.
