Bungie Has A “Year Of Adventure” Planned For Destiny Players In 2017

Destiny players have a "year of adventure" ahead of them in 2017, says Bungie, and while that vague sentiment could mean almost anything, there's one rather important upcoming event for the series that's sure to make the statement truer than its ever been for the shooter. We are, of course, talking about Destiny 2, and while Activision has confirmed that the long-awaited sequel will release this year, we've yet to get an official announcement confirming as such. Sadly, it looks like we won't be hearing anything about it soon, either, if Bungie's latest New Year well wishes are anything to go by.

Destiny players have a “year of adventure” ahead of them in 2017, says Bungie, and while that vague sentiment could mean almost anything, there’s one rather important upcoming event for the series that’s sure to make the statement truer than its ever been for the shooter.

We are, of course, talking about Destiny 2, and while Activision has confirmed that the long-awaited sequel will release this year, we’ve yet to get an official announcement confirming as such. Sadly, it looks like we won’t be hearing anything about it soon, either, if Bungie’s latest New Year well wishes are anything to go by.

“Bungie is ramping back up to full strength. One by one, we’re arriving back in the studio to take up our positions at our desks. We’ll be regrouping this week, and preparing for another year of Destiny,” reads the message, adding that “our next “This Week at Bungie” blog update will land on 1/12/2017. We won’t be ready for any major reveals, but we’ll resume the conversation about the rituals that return to Destiny week over week and month over month.”

Sorry, Guardians, it looks like you’ll have to wait a little longer before Bungie is ready to talk about the sequel, although when that day is, nobody knows. Our guess is an official announcement will be made during this year’s E3, with some small-scale updates planned throughout the year in order to keep players occupied. One thing’s for sure: with Destiny‘s The Dawning event now finished, eyes will quickly start to wonder if Bungie doesn’t outline its future plans soon.
