We are, at the time of writing, exactly one month away from the theatrical release of The LEGO Batman Movie – and we couldn’t be more excited.

Chris McKay’s feature-film debut, one produced by Phil Lord and Chris Miller of The LEGO Movie, heralds the return of Will Arnett’s Caped Crusader, a lonely old vigilante who spends his spare time flaunting his skills in the Batcave – much to the bemusement of Ralph Fiennes’ Alfred. Gotham City is under siege once again, though, and it is Zach Galifianakis’ Clown Prince of Crime that hopes to invoke full-blown anarchy.

He won’t do so alone, however, as The LEGO Batman Movie also features many of the iconic villains from Batman’s Rogues Gallery, including the Riddler, Catwoman, Penguin, Bane, Scarecrow, Gentleman Ghost, Calendar Man, the Condiment King and Billy Dee Williams as Two-Face. Rounding out that enviable lineup of pint-sized friends and foes are Batgirl (Rosario Dawson), Harley Quinn (Jenny Slate), and Gotham City mayor Marion Grange (Mariah Carey).

The LEGO Batman Movie will swoop into theaters on February 10, 2017, when Chris McKay’s directorial debut will have both Fifty Shades Darker and John Wick: Chapter 2 to contend with, but we’re fully confident that the Caped Crusader will fare well at the box office.

In the irreverent spirit of fun that made The LEGO Movie a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble—LEGO Batman—stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
