With Free Comic Book Day not far off, publishers are deciding which titles of theirs best showcase their current vision as they hope to persuade diehard and casual customers alike to sample their wares. Oftentimes, a bit of synergy is at play as a property that is currently enjoying some sort of adaptation is given the spotlight. Not surprisingly, the folks at Archie have opted to shift the focus from Sonic The Hedgehog to Riverdale.

Oftentimes, a bit of synergy is at play as a property that is currently enjoying some sort of adaptation is given the spotlight. Factoring in that new promo material is constantly circulating for the upcoming CW series, as well as spinoff chatter already occurring, putting out a free comic tying into the much talked about show isn’t a bad move at all. Sure, Sonic fans may disagree and we hope they eventually get to read the tale they were promised, but business is business.
