Now that their battle against the Dominators is well behind them, The Flash and Supergirl can once again go about their usual business. You know, reconnecting with their loved ones and taking down supervillains on a weekly basis. But before long, these two will once again have to join forces against none other than the Music Meister.

As we previously reported, the musical crossover is set to kick off on March 20 with Supergirl acting as more of a prologue before things officially getting into full swing on March 21’s episode of The Flash, the appropriately titled “Duet.”

Seeing as how both Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist are Glee alums, it only makes sense that Darren Criss be cast as the Music Meister. This may come as somewhat of a disappointment to those who were hoping that Neil Patrick Harris would be able to reprise his role from Batman: The Brave and the Bold, but it’s not too often that actors get to play the same character in both live action and animation unless you’re, say, Matt Ryan, the definitive John Constantine.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg had the following to say to TV Line regarding Criss’ casting:

“With our Flash and our Supergirl being Glee alums, how could we not have them go up against another Glee favorite like Darren Criss?. We have been blown away by his talent over the years and we can’t wait to see what he brings to the Music Meister.”

Supergirl airs on Mondays on The CW, with The Flash following on Tuesdays.
