Although he didn’t get much screen time in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Jason Momoa has certainly left an impression on fans when it comes to his inhabiting the role of Aquaman. Heck, you need only be familiar with his resume or have caught a glimpse of him in costume – let alone that awesome Justice League trailer – to have come to the conclusion that he will be one badass Arthur Curry.
Interestingly enough, he was apparently cast in the iconic role long before the news was made public. While appearing on a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, he revealed that he was locked in four or five years prior to the rest of us being made privy to that information.
[zergpaid]Now, that certainly may sound like quite a long time to the rest of us, which it most certainly is, but keep in mind that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was publicly announced as having been cast as Black Adam way back in 2014, with the Shazam movie not slated to hit theaters until 2019. And it’s only now that we’ve learned he’s due to receive a solo film.
Taking into account that the DC Extended Universe didn’t officially begin until Man of Steel’s release in 2013, one has to wonder when initial plans were put into place. Originally, Green Lantern was intended to kickoff a shared universe, but, well, we all know how that turned out.
