Expect To Visit Asgard In Avengers: Infinity War

In case you don't know (and really, how could you not at this stage?), Avengers: Infinity War is now in production. Aside from a potential new logo though, we really haven't seen too much from it just yet. Set photos and videos are bound to make their way online in the near future, but until then, fans are eating up every little morsel of information they can find, no matter how big or small.

In case you don’t know (and really, how could you not at this stage?), Avengers: Infinity War is now in production. That seems to be the case today, as eagle-eyed readers have discovered a casting call online that points to something rather interesting. Apparently, Marvel is looking for people to play background roles and they’re asking for guys with “long hair and beards.” They also mention that in the email to the casting agency the subject line should include the word ‘Viking.’ Put two and two together and it’s pretty clear that the studio is trying to find extras for scenes on Asgard, Thor’s home planet.

We don’t know exactly what’s going to happen there, but the casting call also mentions that those who are hired will “need to be comfortable with fake blood and with wearing special effects makeup.” Does this indicate that Thanos is going to reign down terror on the Asgardians? It’s certainly possible.

With Marvel currently quite busy preparing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (which got an awesome Super Bowl spot earlier tonight) for release, not to mention all the other projects they’ve got going on, we probably won’t hear anything concrete on Avengers: Infinity War until a few months down the road. And while that’s a bit upsetting, to be sure, there’s more than enough coming our way from the studio to tide us over in the meantime, right?
