Snatched Trailer: Only A Mother-Daughter Bond Can Save Amy Schumer And Goldie Hawn

Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn find themselves caught up in the family vacation from hell in the rip-roaring new trailer for Snatched.

The moment 20th Century Fox announced plans to bring together Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn for a mother-comedy comedy, we were enthralled.

Following the success of her hit sketch show Inside Amy Schumer, the actress really turned heads and raised eyebrows in 2015 through Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck, a film she wrote and starred in as the irreverent Amy Townsend. The award nominations came pouring in, and Schumer cemented her status as one of Hollywood’s bankable leading ladies in a flash.

For Goldie Hawn, the screen legend is poised to make her first film appearance in more than 15 years for Snatched, Jonathan Levine’s family comedy that ships Schumer and Hawn off to some far-flung exotic location. A relaxing holiday and some much-needed bonding time are on the cards, though the Middletons’ dream vacation soon morphs into a holiday from hell after they’re kidnapped by a band of crooks. Cue the NSFW shenanigans.

Bridesmaids helmer Paul Feig is on board to produce with a script from Katie Dippold (The Heat, Ghostbusters). Also starring Joan Cusack, Ike Barinholtz, Wanda Sykes and Christopher Meloni, Snatched will make a beeline for UK and U.S. theaters alike on May 12th. That’s Mother’s Day weekend for those in the States, and let’s just hope that Jonathan Levine’s hellish family vacation offers up more laughs per buck than, say, Garry Marshall’s holiday-themed rom-com from last year.

After her boyfriend dumps her on the eve of their exotic vacation, impetuous dreamer Emily Middleton persuades her ultra-cautious mother, Linda, to travel with her to paradise. Polar opposites, Emily and Linda realize that working through their differences as mother and daughter – in unpredictable, hilarious fashion – is the only way to escape the wildly outrageous jungle adventure they have fallen into.
