The Gloves Are Off In Pulse-Pounding First Clip For Netflix’s Iron Fist

Watch Colleen Wing kick ass in the electrifying first clip for Iron Fist, Marvel and Netflix's fourth solo series due to arrive on March 17th.

If yesterday’s big trailer reveal was the main course – one that offered up a satisfying summary of Danny Rand’s origin story, without straying too far into spoiler territory – then this all-new clip for Marvel and Netflix’s Iron Fist is the delicious dessert.

Featuring Colleen Wing in full-on hero mode, the snippet above is undoubtedly our best look at Jessica Henwick’s martial artist to date, as she challenges two musclebound goons to a cage fight. Laughed off as a poor opponent in the beginning, it isn’t long before Wing sends both brawlers packing, much to the delight of those huddled around the arena. As a fearless ally to Danny Rand, there’s no question that Henwick’s character will prove instrumental throughout the course of Iron Fist‘s first season, and we know that the Game of Thrones alum is part of an ensemble that includes David Wenham and Jessica Stroup (90210) as David and Joy Meachum, respectively.

At the forefront of Marvel and Netflix’s fourth solo series is the final Defender himself, Danny Rand. Played here by Finn Jones – another former Game of Thrones star – Iron Fist follows Danny’s journey back to New York City after more than a decade. In those intervening years, Jones’ title lead became well versed in martial arts, and decides to tackle crime upon returning home.

Iron Fist will be with us on March 17th. Assuming all goes according to plan, it’s the first of three Marvel shows earmarked for a Netflix premiere in 2017, with The Defenders and the Jon Bernthal-led Punisher spinoff also cramming up the pipeline. Both are currently lensing in NYC, and just yesterday we caught a glimpse of Frank Castle having a run-in with the law.

Fifteen years after being presumed dead in a plane crash, Danny Rand (Finn Jones) mysteriously returns to New York City determined to reclaim his birthright and family company. However, when a long-destined enemy rises in New York, this living weapon is forced to choose between his family’s legacy and his duties as the Iron Fist.
