Thor: Ragnarok Footage Description May Reveal A Surprising Twist

Those lucky enough to be at Disney's recent shareholders meeting were treated to a variety of sneak peeks from upcoming releases, including Star Wars: The Last Jedi and a number of Marvel's future movies, like Thor: Ragnarok. Those lucky enough to be at Disney’s recent shareholders meeting were treated to a variety of sneak peeks from upcoming releases, including Star Wars: The Last Jedi and a number of Marvel’s future movies, like Thor: Ragnarok. This marks the first time anything has been shown off from the upcoming threequel, and while we recently got a first look at it via some official stills, we now have something even better: a small description of the footage that was screened.

According to those who saw it, the clip showed both Thor and the Hulk in their gladiator garb before their battle on Sakaar, but what’s perhaps most interesting is that one person in attendance claims that Hela (played by Cate Blanchett) manages to stop Mjolnir, the God of Thunder’s mighty hammer, in its tracks.

We’ve known for a while now that the titular hero will be separated from it when he’s sent to Sakaar in Thor: Ragnarok, but most fan theories have pointed to it either being destroyed or Thor being left unworthy in some way. The footage reportedly showed Hela holding it by its head, too, rather than the handle, as if it’s been thrown at her and she’s managed to catch it.

How’s that happened? Well, we can’t say for sure, but it’s pretty clear that the villain is vastly more powerful that her comic book counterpart and while she may not be “worthy,” she’s definitely got enough power to stop and potentially even wield the hammer.

Tell us, what do you think about Hela being able to stop Mjolnir in its tracks? How’s she managed to accomplish such a feat? Let us know your Thor: Ragnarok theories and thoughts in the comments section down below.
