Gal Gadot Spills The Beans On Her Favorite Character In Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman is going to be a big test not only for Warner Bros.' DC Extended Universe, but superhero movies in general. While both Captain Marvel and a Joss Whedon-helmed Batgirl film may be in the works, this will be the first female-led mainstream comic book adaptation in quite some time, so you'd best believe that a lot of studios will have their eye on those all-important box office receipts.

Wonder Woman is going to be a big test not only for Warner Bros.’ DC Extended Universe, but superhero movies in general. While both Captain Marvel and a Joss Whedon-helmed Batgirl film may be in the works, this will be the first female-led mainstream comic book adaptation in quite some time, so you’d best believe that a lot of studios will have their eye on those all-important box office receipts.

Star Gal Gadot has got to be feeling the pressure then, but she’s lucky enough to be surrounded by a stellar supporting cast. Asked in a recent interview who she would count among her favourites, the Justice League star was quick to single out Chris Pine.

“Well the main one is Steve, and I really, really enjoy working with Chris [Pine]. He’s a great partner, funny, we have lots of laughs on set, and I think that his character, compared to Diana’s character, they’re very much yin and yang. He’s this really sick guy who’s been through a lot and he knows what mankind is capable of doing and Diana is this young idealist that thinks the world is very white, very pure, mankind are only good. Once they get to know each other, he teaches her so much about reality and mankind and she brings back hope to his life.”

It sounds like the interactions between these two could be a highlight here, though that shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise considering how great the Star Trek actor is in terms of sheer charisma. It’s just unfortunate that this will more than likely be his only appearance in this world.

That’s because Wonder Woman is set during the dark days of World War I, and that obviously means he’ll be long dead in any present day set adventures starring Gadot as the Amazon warrior. It’s possible he could play his grandson (in the current DC Comics Universe, Trevor is a key member of A.R.G.U.S., the organization run by Amanda Waller in Suicide Squad), but that will likely depend on a number of factors. For now, at least we know we’ll be enjoying their chemistry in Wonder Woman this June.
