Wonder Woman International Poster Gathers The Whole Crew

Antiope draws her blade in the latest Wonder Woman action shot, while there's also a new international poster that gathers the whole cast.

Robin Wright is an actress who is perhaps best known for her steely portrayal of Claire Underwood, a ruthless, near-unflinching First Lady and a worthy ally/accomplice to House of Cardsother political shark, Frank Underwood.

But in two weeks’ time, Wright will be trading Washington’s corridors of power for the sun-kissed beaches of Themyscira. That’s right, Wonder Woman is looming large on the horizon, and to celebrate, Empire has rolled out another action shot for Patty Jenkins’ long-anticipated origin story that casts light on Antiope (Robin Wright), the aunt to Diana Prince who schools Gal Gadot’s warrior-in-training on the deft art of hand-to-hand combat. Another key figure in Diana’s upbringing is Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen), and previous trailers have revealed the poignant mother-daughter relationship that’s set to light up the silver screen on June 2nd.

In terms of Antiope, though, DC producer Charles Roven considers Antiope to be the “greatest warrior of all time,” and you’ll be able to take a peek at Wright’s fierce Amazon kitted out in full battle gear down below.

Ensuring everyone was in tip-top shape for Wonder Woman meant Patty Jenkins established an Amazonian boot camp during the midst of production, and here, the writer-director reflects on the chemistry that ensued while chatting to Empire.

It was a riot. We had 80 incredible women, all living in one Italian summer camp, from supermodels to the best female boxer in the world. It was rangy women just stalking around with their badass moves in droves, all becoming best friends and all super-intrigued by one another.

It’s a journey that stretches back for almost 75 years, but on June 2nd, Wonder Woman will step out of the comic book and onto the big screen for her solo debut. A sequel is reportedly teetering on the edge of pre-production, though it seems Warner Bros. brass has deemed Joss Whedon’s Batgirl movie to be the priority…for now. Also slated for a 2017 release is Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie, which will be with us on November 17th.
