And that’s exactly what WB has chosen to do. On the heels of EW’s blowout, the studio has pumped out yet another TV spot for Patty Jenkins’ origin story that sees Diana Prince’s Amazonian prepped and ready to leave the nest. Her destination? The Great War, and we know that Diana will essentially be fighting to save humanity from itself. Metropolis has Superman. Gotham has Batman. Now, the world has Wonder Woman – and not a moment too soon.

In related news, there’s still to enter We Got This Covered’s Wonder Woman contest. The prize? A DC Collectibles Statue featuring the Immortal Warrior and her loyal companion, Steve Trevor (Chris Pine). Together, they form the beating heart of DC’s Wonder Woman spinoff, though Warner Bros. has still assembled an all-star cast to support them, including Danny Huston, Ewen Bremner (Snowpiercer), Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya, Connie Nielsen and Lucy Davis.

With the Lasso of Truth in one hand and God Killer in the other, Wonder Woman is expected to march into theaters on June 2nd. Box office analysts have projected a commendable $65 million opening weekend on home turf, but it’ll be interesting to see whether those glowing reviews have much of a bearing on the grand total. Chances are they will, and that’ll no doubt fuel rumors of a sequel getting off the ground in the not-so-distant future.
