It's probably safe to say that superhero fans are breathing a sigh of relief knowing how much positive buzz is surrounding Wonder Woman at the moment (you can read our review here). Aside from being one of the most critically acclaimed comic book movies ever, it also had a strong Thursday night gross, so we'll keep our fingers crossed hoping for an impressive opening weekend total.

Aside from being one of the most critically acclaimed comic book movies ever, it also had a strong Thursday night gross, so we’ll keep our fingers crossed hoping for an impressive opening weekend total.

And although there’s something to be said whenever critics and moviegoers are in agreement these days, it’s always pleasing to hear whenever onscreen talent express appreciation in genre films. As luck would have it, Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years A Slave, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) was fortunate enough to have seen the film already, taking to social media to tell us that it’s “a superhero movie like none I have ever seen.”

Despite being someone who’s enjoyed each DC Extended Universe offering to this point to varying degrees, I’m fully willing to admit that they were highly divisive. That said, Wonder Woman‘s seemingly universal acclaim is definitely the shot in the arm the brand needs, especially with Justice League poised to arrive in theaters this November. Let’s just that the hope the momentum continues into 2018 and beyond.
