After some time spent filming on the sun-kissed Canary Islands, Disney and Lucasfilm’s untitled Han Solo anthology movie has now uprooted for England – specifically the Fawley Power Station in Southeastern England – where production continues in anticipation of that all-important May 2018 release date.
Indeed. Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s galactic origin story has been lensing at the industrial space for nigh on two weeks, and it wasn’t long before eagle-eyed spectators captured photos of both Alden Ehrenreich as the young Han Solo and what appears to be his newfound ride. Today’s haul is cut from a similar cloth, and includes new looks at both Solo’s alleged Speeder and a Scout Trooper on patrol in and around Fawley Power Station. If nothing else, it confirms the Empire’s presence in Disney’s 2018 anthology film, but with precious few plot details currently available, the jury’s still out on how the Han Solo origin story will unfold in little under a year’s time.
What we do know for sure is that Woody Harrelson is attached to the part of a mentor character. Beckett (Garris Shrike?) is purportedly the name of said individual, and has since been described as a “good at heart” criminal, which is perhaps the perfect description of Han Solo himself.
As for those aforementioned set videos, here’s the latest haul, courtesy of Instagram user davidpennyesq:
Smuggler? Scoundrel? Hero? The Han Solo anthology movie will reveal all, and likely include a trip to Corellia, when Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s spinoff zooms into theaters on May 25th, 2018. It’s the second Star Wars standalone pic to come out of Disney and Lucasfilm after Rogue One, though both parties will soon direct attention toward Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi, which looks set to unveil the next chapter in the Skywalker saga on December 15th of this year.
