Filming Begins On Arrow Season 6 As Premiere Title Is Confirmed

Considering that its DC TV brethren in The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow both commenced filming for their upcoming seasons this week, it only makes sense that Arrow do the same. Though we may be three months away from showtime as it were, the post-production crew must be given ample time in order to do their thing - and there's also the possibility of some kind of teaser trailer dropping at San Diego Comic-Con in two weeks.

With that, executive producer Marc Guggenheim has freely taken to Twitter, letting us know that the premiere episode of season 6 will, in fact, be titled “Fallout.” Frankly, we should’ve seen this coming, considering that not only did season 5’s finale leave us on one of the greatest cliffhangers the series has thus far produced, but also because it’s been said that many consequences will be explored in its wake. So, knowing that Guggenheim’s co-showrunner in Wendy Mericle is joining him on scripting duties, we can fully expect a doozy from those two.

Plot aside, the front cover to the teleplay reaffirms that series stunt coordinator James Bamford will indeed be directing, something we also recently reported on. Given that, it’s probably safe to assume that he’ll be concocting another round of high-octane fight sequences, with a few possible vehicle chases peppered throughout.

Something we should not expect to see, though, will be flashback sequences now that Oliver’s five-year backstory has been told in full. Well, it’s not entirely outside the realm of possibility, but when the writers use that method of storytelling going forward, it’ll more so be used to explore a character relevant to said episode.

Arrow returns for its sixth season on Thursday, October 12 on The CW. Will you be tuning in? Let us know in the usual place!
