2018 is shaping up to be a huge year for Josh Brolin, who’s lined up back-to-back appearances in Avengers: Infinity War (May 4th) and Deadpool 2 (June 1st). The former will surely leave the door open for Brolin’s Mad Titan to feature in the as-yet-untitled Avengers 4, though given how Marvel continues to play its cards close to the vest, it’ll be some time yet before we have a firm answer to that question.
In regards to the Merc with a Mouth’s second solo outing, we haven’t heard a whole lot about the sequel to date, but with production now underway, that should start to change quite soon. If there’s one thing we do know, however, it’s that there’s going to be an ample amount of humor and laughs in the film. Or at least, that’s according to Brolin.
Speaking with GMA at D23 this past weekend, the actor said that Deadpool 2 is going to be even funnier than the first one. A bold claim, to be sure, but we don’t doubt him.

Featuring an ensemble anchored by Brolin and Zazie Beetz, the Deadpool 2 cast sheet has also made room in its ranks for up-and-comer Julian Dennison, while fans can look forward to seeing a host of familiar faces including Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), T.J. Miller (Weasel), Karan Soni (Dopinder) and, of course, Ryan Reynolds, who’s back, back, back as the titular anti-hero.
Deadpool 2 has been set for release on June 1st, next year, and currently finds itself sandwiched between Josh Boone’s New Mutants (April 13th) and X-Men: Dark Phoenix (November 2nd, 2018). Fox’s comic book movie plans span far beyond 2018, though, now that the studio has staked out a total of six release dates between now and 2021. Perhaps one of those has been reserved for the rumored Fantastic Four revival? Time will tell.
