Benedict Cumberbatch And Paul Rudd Surprise Marvel Fan On His Birthday

It's nothing new for actors to reach out to their fans and show some love, but it's always nice to see it happen. The folks at Marvel are particularly good about this sort of thing and most recently, we saw Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland visiting some children in a hospital in Los Angeles. The goodwill doesn't end there, though, as today, we've got yet another example of Earth's Mightiest Heroes giving back to those who support them.

With filming currently underway on Ant-Man and the Wasp and Avengers: Infinity War having recently wrapped production, both Paul Rudd and Benedict Cumberbatch are down in Atlanta doing their thing, and this week, they decided to make one lucky Marvel fan’s day by sending him a very special birthday message. There’s nothing in the way of footage here from either of those aforementioned MCU releases, but it’s a fun video that fans will surely get a kick out of. Not to mention it shows what good guys the actors are.

Pretty neat, right? We’re unsure of the story behind this or how it all came to be, but it’s nice to see Cumberbatch and Rudd reaching out to the kid regardless. After all, both of them are no doubt tremendously busy right now with their respective roles and it just goes to show how much they appreciate their fans by taking the time out of their day (even though it was only a few minutes) to hop on the phone with the young boy.

Circling back to the MCU, though, and as mentioned above, Ant-Man and the Wasp is now in production and earlier today, Marvel dropped a new teaser video to celebrate that fact. It didn’t reveal any footage from the film and at the moment, little is known about the narrative underpinning the sequel, but following the addition of Laurence Fishburne and Tomb Raider‘s Walton Goggins, not to mention the addition of Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, we fully expect to learn more about Peyton Reed’s follow-up sooner rather than later.

Until then, be sure to check out Benedict Cumberbatch and Paul Rudd’s awesome birthday message above and leave us a comment with your thoughts.
