Lucas Till, who portrayed Havok in X-Men: First Class and Miley Cyrus’s love interest in The Hannah Montana Movie, has been cast in Stoker. The film is a thriller that will be the first English-language film for Park Chan-Wook, known for directing Oldboy and Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance.

The film centers around a young girl (Mia Wasikowska) whose life is shaken up when her uncle (Matthew Goode) comes to town. A title like Stoker invokes images of vampires, but unlikely writer Wentworth Miller, star of Prison Break, promises that there are no vamps involved in this love story.

While Till’s potential character is technically unknown, it seems safe to assume that he would play the lead’s love interest. His big break was a Hannah Montana movie, and while Havok’s role in X-Men: First Class wasn’t exactly romantic, he was still brooding, mysterious, and really, really good-looking.

Originally, there was talk that the lead roles in Stoker would be played by Carey Mulligan and Colin Firth, before Wasikowska and Goode were officially confirmed. Stoker has a much different feel to it now; it seems more commercial, and dare I say it, Twilight-ish.

While Wasikowska made up for it with The Kids Are All Right, she still starred in Tim Burton‘s abysmal Alice in Wonderland remake, making me wonder about her film choices in general.

I do like Wasikowska, Goode, and Till, and Park Chan-Wook has made some excellent foreign language films, so all in all, I am anticipating this one.
