Here’s When Deathstroke Will Return To Arrow

Thanks to the first trailer for Arrow season 6 that dropped last month at San Diego Comic-Con, we’ve been given a lot to look forward to when we rejoin the series this fall. One thing in particular that you may agree with me in saying is among the greatest selling points is that of seeing Manu Bennett returning as Deathstroke for a number of episodes.

In fact, one could say that the return of Slade Wilson is doubly exciting, not only because he’s once again siding with Oliver Queen now that the Mirakuru has burned out of his system, but also because we’ll get to see this iteration of the character be fleshed out thanks to flashbacks set to be explored in a two-episode arc.

Now, we don’t know exactly when said two-episode arc will arrive, but considering that Oliver helping Slade with finding his son will be a subplot to be explored throughout season 6, it stands to reason that they’ll want to get the ball rolling sooner rather than later.

Regardless of that, we can now confirm that the world’s deadliest mercenary will return in the fifth episode of this season, the appropriately titled “Deathstroke Returns.” Written by Ben Sokolowski and Sprio Skentzos, with Joel Novoa seated in the director’s chair, this should serve as the character’s proper return to Star City, even if he appears in flashbacks to season 5’s finale in this year’s premiere.

This was all made official thanks to a Tweet made by executive producer Marc Guggenheim saying, “I’m posting this one early because it’s Friday. Also, I’m worried the title might be too subtle.” Furthermore, Manu Bennett himself was tagged in the post, which displayed the teleplay’s front page (seen below).

Arrow returns for its sixth season on Thursday, October 12 on The CW.
