David Guetta Ft. Sia – Titanium

We’re getting closer to the release of Nothing But The Beat, the upcoming album from French hitmaker David Guetta. The August 26th release date isn’t too far off and the marketing/publicity push for the record has been heating up.

A new single from the album was released today and admittedly, it’s a bit underwhelming, especially when compared to monstrous hits like Little Bad Girl and Where Them Girls At. The track is called Titanium and features Australian pop singer Sia.

Originally, Mary J. Blige recorded the song with Guetta but that cut won’t see the light of day. It did leak out though a few weeks ago and we’ve posted it below. The version that will appear on the album though will be the one featuring Sia. Why? I’m not sure, it doesn’t make much sense, especially since Mary J. Blige is a lot bigger than Sia you’d think that Guetta would go with her cut.

Either way, it’s a mundane track with Guetta’s signature electro-pop club beats in the back. The only problem is, I can’t see this one being played on the dancefloor, it’s not energetic enough or high tempoed enough. Perhaps once its mixed things will change but just from listening to this version, I can’t see it.

The chorus picks up a bit and gets pretty dance/techno heavy but this is still nowhere near as catchy as a song like Where Them Girls At. That’s the kind of Guetta music I like and the kind I want to hear. The kind that is engineered for the dance floor and is pure club music.

Stuff like Memories, Sexy Bitch, the FMIF remix of I Gotta Feeling, the Gettin Over You remix with Fergie and LMFAO etc. That’s the stuff I want to hear, not songs like Titanium. Sia‘s un-autotuned vocals sound fine but the actual beat itself just isn’t terribly exciting and it’s not what I want to hear from David Guetta.
