Black Mirror, Charlie Brooker’s super-stylish and eerily prescient anthology series, is fast approaching its fourth season on the airwaves, and we can hardly wait.

Comprised of six episodes in total – six dark new realities – Brooker’s satirical hit is expected to return sometime before the year’s end, at which point we expect to be nursing a crippling case of techno-paranoia. Until that day arrives, though, Netflix (via Collider) has delivered the next best thing: two action shots for Black Mirror season 4, and they come from the future.

The first, which is lifted from the Jodie Foster-directed “Arkangel,” finds Rosemarie Dewitt supervising what appears to be some form of cerebral experiment. Lean a little closer and you’ll notice that the young girl is staring into a nearby monitor, so perhaps the device hovering close to her skull is able to monitor brainwaves? Whatever the outcome, we imagine it’ll be similar to neuropsychology on steroids.

Elsewhere, there’s also an image pulled from “USS Callister.” Directed by Toby Haynes from a script by Brooker and William Bridges (Sherlock), this Star Trek-esque crew features Jesse Plemons (Fargo), Cristin Milioti, Jimmi Simpson (Westworld), Michaela Coel, and Billy Magnussen. John Hillcoat (Triple 9) and David Slade (Hannibal) are also listed in season 4’s roster of directors.

With Black Mirror, not all is as it seems. Even the dreamy “San Junipero” ended on a solemn note, while the less said about the heart-wrenching finale to “Be Right Back” the better. Yes, throughout its celebrated run, Charlie Brooker and Co. have at times delivered truly unmissable television, and you’ll be able to find further details on each of season 4’s instalments – cast and directors included – right here.

Six new realities await. Netflix is yet to nail down an official premiere date for Black Mirror season 4, but we’ll keep you informed as more details begin to emerge.
