Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel Reportedly Spotted On The Set Of Avengers 4

Skull Island actress Brie Larson has been spotted on the Atlanta set of Avengers 4, all but confirming Captain Marvel's involvement in the 2019 sequel.

As evidenced by the steady stream of set photos, Atlanta is still playing host to Avengers 4, Marvel’s unnamed sequel currently on course for a release in 2019.

Nipping at the heels of Infinity War (May 4th, 2018), directors Joe and Anthony Russo have now switched gears to orchestrate the second, conclusive chapter in their two-part epic, which presumably pits Earth’s Mightiest Heroes against Thanos for the final time in May of 2019.

Practically every MCU hero is expected to feature in some shape or form, and true to those earlier rumors, we’re now learning that Skull Island actress Brie Larson has been spotted on the Atlanta set meaning that, yes, Captain Marvel is all but confirmed for Avengers 4. Truth be told, if you’ve been keeping tabs on the sequel’s production cycle, you’ll know that Larson was already linked with an appearance in the Russo Brothers’ untitled project, given it’s due to launch after Marvel’s long-in-development origin movie for the great Carol Danvers.

Dubbed the “bridge between two worlds,” we know Captain Marvel is primarily set in the 1990s, and will finally factor the Skrulls into the equation. Those shape-shifting alien nasties have been a mainstay of the Marvel comics for generations, so it’ll be fascinating to watch how newly-appointed directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck incorporate them into their Brie Larson-fronted spinoff.

Getting back to Avengers 4, though, and from what we understand, it’ll include a fairly sizeable scene involving Black Widow and the Yakuza, while there have also been murmurings that Clinton Barton (AKA Hawkeye) will assume an entirely new identity in two years’ time. As for Larson’s presence on set, here’s the latest from Atlanta Filming:

All will be revealed when Avengers 4 shoots for theaters on May 3rd, 2019. Its predecessor, aptly titled Avengers: Infinity War, will bring most of the MCU together in spectacular fashion on May 4th, 2018.
