A new Justice League banner image has emerged online via JoinTheLeague.com (with a tip of the hat to CBM) and in it, you’ll find Henry Cavill’s Superman rubbing shoulders with his fellow costumed crusaders. Not for the first time, Supes is placed alongside Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash and Ray Fisher’s Cyborg, who is still expected to headline his own standalone pic in 2020 despite reports to the contrary.

When it comes to Justice League, though, Warner’s star-studded ensemble piece is emerging from a storied spell in development. Back in May, Joss Whedon was drafted in at the 11th hour to assume directorial duties from the outgoing Zack Snyder, who walked away from the project in order to tend to a family tragedy. Indeed, Snyder has since gone on record to say that it would be “unfair” of him to climb back on board after such a lengthy absence, so it’s all but certain that the erstwhile director will allow Joss Whedon and his team to handle the film’s press tour when the time comes.

Here’s that aforementioned banner image, courtesy of JoinTheLeague.com, along with a few that were released last week:

You’ll notice that Henry Cavill’s Messiah figure is sporting the classic suit, though there have been rumblings that the Man of Steel will undergo a wardrobe change mid-way through Justice League. Black suit Superman, anyone?

Granted, last time we checked in on the Last Son of Krypton, he was being lowered six feet under after making the ultimate sacrifice in last year’s Batman V Superman. Turns out that selfless act really did a number on Ben Affleck’s Caped Crusader, who will be “rediscovering hope” when Justice League steamrolls into theaters in two months’ time.

And if those overly positive reactions to Warner’s recent test screening are any indication, November 17th can’t come soon enough.
