The Flash EP Dishes On What Lies Ahead For Killer Frost And The Thinker

With just under two weeks to go until The Flash returns for another exciting season, one of the questions on all of our minds is the same as it whenever this time of year rolls around: What of the new heroes and villains? First, let’s talk about Killer Frost. While she’s technically nobody new, the ever evolving and complicated woman that is Caitlin Snow has remained a hot topic all throughout the summer hiatus. Last season, she finally embraced her chilly alter ego, something we’d all waited to see since the pilot episode aired several years back.

Understandably, there are some who preferred her simply as Caitlin the scientist, and we’ve since learned that fans of both halves of her psyche will be satisfied with what lies ahead. Obviously, this led us to believe that a struggle within awaits, which Andrew Kreisberg actually touched on in a recent conversation with TV Insider:

“[Caitlin is] continuing to struggle with the cold monster lurking inside of her, but she will definitely come back into the fold in the premiere episode.”

Someone else generating a lot of buzz is that of the next big bad to be dealt with, the Thinker. To date, we haven’t learned much about him other than he’s “the world’s fastest mind.” Considering that we’ve been witness to some scary customers like Zoom and Savitar, the writers will have to do all they can to make this fella as terrifying as possible. And while he didn’t have an abundance to add, Kreisberg had this cryptic statement to offer:

“He has a need for him, I would say is more accurate.”

In other words, Clifford DeVoe doesn’t actually want to kill Barry Allen, but instead has something else in mind. Your guess is as good as ours, but let’s not forget that the Reverse-Flash was using our hero for his own ends – though he still wanted to destroy him.

The Flash returns for its fourth season on Tuesday, October 10 on The CW.
