Rumored Plot Point For The Last Jedi Claims Luke Is To Blame For Kylo Ren’s Evil Turn

Much digital ink has been spilled over Luke Skywalker’s self-imposed exile, with the overriding consensus being that Mark Hamill’s Jedi fled to Ahch-To soon after the destruction of his budding Jedi Academy at the hands of Kylo Ren. But what about how Mark Hamill’s Jedi affected the young Ben Solo?

The latest rumor concerning Star Wars: The Last Jedi, one pieced together by Star Wars sleuth Mike Zeroh, claims that Luke Skywalker is actually the one to blame for Kylo Ren turning to the dark side. Previous reports have pointed to Supreme Leader Snoke as the main culprit behind Ben Solo’s evil turn, but according to Zeroh, that change of heart can be traced all the way back to a family feud.

Per YouTube:

I do believe it all has to do with his uncle, Luke Skywalker. [According to JJ Abrams], neglect was a little reason as to why Kylo Ren turned to the Dark Side. I believe the full reason…is essentially disagreeing with his uncle on his beliefs. Before the events of The Force Awakens, Luke had these sets of beliefs from his former masters such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and of course, Yoda.

Recalling his intense training regime on Dagobah, Zeroh asserts that Luke Skywalker initially tried to relay those same methods while teaching the young Ben Solo, only for things to blow up in his face. Perhaps this explains why Luke is somewhat hesitant about educating Rey (Daisy Ridley) on the finer details of the Force? Time will tell.

Zeroh continued:

Now I believe Luke Skywalker handed down this information to Kylo Ren…and I think that Kylo Ren didn’t believe in that and actually thought it was completely wrong and not the way to go. And maybe Luke Skywalker’s reaction…really turned Kylo Ren off…and that’s exactly what pushed him away for good.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi zooms into theaters on December 15th, and there’s a very good chance that Lucasfilm and Disney will finally lift the curtain on the sequel’s full-length trailer on Monday, October 9th. Keep your peepers peeled on Monday Night Football for that one.
