Epic Thor: Ragnarok Clip Tees Up The Fight Of The Century; Early Reactions Heap Praise On “Fun, Hilarious” Threequel

It’s shaping up to be a very, very exciting six weeks for comic book fans.

On the one end of the spectrum, we have Warner’s Justice League – a film so epic and mind-bogglingly complex that it took not one, but two directors to shepherd it across the finish line, after Joss Whedon (Avengers) was drafted in to dot the i’s and cross the t’s in lieu of Zack Snyder. Indeed, the DC blockbuster enjoyed a big showcase this past weekend, when the Powers That Be lifted the curtain on one final, and suitably heroic trailer. You can check out our own thorough breakdown of said sizzle reel right here.

But as if uniting the League wasn’t enough, there’s also the impending release of Thor: Ragnarok, Marvel and Taika Waititi’s spacefaring threequel that largely centers on the galactic escapades of Hulk and Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder – you know, after their titanic clash in Sakaar’s super-sized arena. Held up as the fight of the century, Entertainment Weekly has today shared an exclusive clip that introduces each contender, and, well, let’s just say all bets are off.

Pegged to arrive on November 3rd, Marvel Studios is now beginning to host advanced screenings for select members of the press, and it seems as though Ragnarok is about to live up to our Hulk-sized expectations. Included below is a small sample of those reactionary Tweets, with full reviews (including our own!) expected to follow in the coming weeks.

From the offbeat and seemingly hilarious humor to Marvel’s rip-roaring soundtrack, Thor: Ragnarok is beginning to generate some serious buzz ahead of its theatrical release, which will no doubt stand the film in good stead as it begins to make its box office climb.

For the sake of perspective, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 ($863 million) and Spider-Man: Homecoming ($877 million) are the two Marvel films to beat for 2017, and we’ll find out exactly how Ragnarok fares on November 3rd. Justice League, meanwhile, will finally see a release on November 17th.
