This Fan-Made Poster For Star Wars: The Last Jedi Is Something Special

If there’s one thing the Internet isn’t lacking, it’s fan-made posters based on Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Even before Sunday’s momentous reveal, in which Lucasfilm and Disney took over ESPN’s Monday Night Football to direct everyone’s attention to the ongoing Skywalker saga, the impassioned Star Wars community has produced one memorable one-sheet after another. But the latest piece, which finds its way to us via CBM, is something truly special.

Drawn up by Marvel Comics artist Phil Noto, the image (which can be seen in the gallery below, along with a few others) is arguably one of The Last Jedi‘s best posters to date, and that’s even when you count those hilarious, meme-worthy portraits that replace every major character with a porg. Because porgs are so hot right now.

Known for his work with Black Widow and Marvel’s Inhumans, Noto’s piece spotlights the four principal characters of The Last Jedi: Kylo Ren, General Leia Organa, Rey and Luke Skywalker, who can be seen looming in the backdrop. It certainly evokes comparisons to the recently-unveiled IMAX standee, which itself fuelled rumors that Mark Hamill’s Jedi is about to succumb to the dark side of the Force.

Could it be that the great Luke Skywalker is about to turn his back on the Resistance in their most desperate hour? Mark Hamill has always played down chatter of an evil Luke, though based on the sequel’s recent trailer, it looks like we should be more concerned about Rey and her own uncertainty.

It’s different, it’s unexpected, and it may well be the longest film in the franchise. Yes, Star Wars: The Last Jedi is shaping up to be something truly special, not least because it’ll herald Carrie Fisher’s final turn in the Skywalker saga. Her General Leia Organa will be fondly remembered, of course, just don’t get your hopes up for any form of CGI resurrection in the untitled Episode IX.
