Mark Ruffalo Accidentally Leaked Thor: Ragnarok

Launch one trailer too many, though, and you risk overexposure, and there have been plenty of examples in the past where studios have ostensibly spoiled their blockbusters prior to release. Terminator: Genisys, we’re looking at you.

Granted, Marvel tends to have a pretty good track record when it comes to skating around spoilers, but it would seem that one thing they can’t prevent is their own cast accidentally leaking things out – like part of the film, for instance. Yes, that’s right, earlier this week during Thor: Ragnarok‘s world premiere, Mark Ruffalo accidentally live streamed about 10 minutes of the threequel.

Thankfully, it was just the audio, but still, you’ve got to imagine that Marvel isn’t too happy about this. Apparently, what happened was that the actor was live streaming the premiere and simply forgot to turn his phone off once he went into the theatre. Fans alerted him that the stream was still going but Ruffalo didn’t notice for a while, leading to the audio from the film being uploaded to YouTube and various other social media sites – though it’s since been taken down.

While the actor certainly screwed up here, it shouldn’t hurt Ragnarok in any way, as early projections for the pic have it at a $90m-$100m debut in North America across the weekend of November 3rd. To put that forecast into perspective, the original Thor and its sequel, The Dark World, opened to $65.7 million and $85.7 million, respectively, which only makes this revelation all the more impressive.

So, all signs currently point to Thor: Ragnarok being remembered as another slam dunk for Marvel Studios then, and the first truly great solo film for the God of Thunder. It’ll come packing a pair of post-credits scenes, too, so make sure you hang around after Ragnarok‘s grand finale to discover what’s next for Hulk and the gang.
