More Evidence Points To Abraham Appearing On Fear The Walking Dead

After years of maintaining that such a thing was impossible, it was recently revealed at New York Comic-Con that The Walking Dead and its spinoff Fear The Walking Dead would be crossing over after all. TWD creator Robert Kirkman announced that an as yet unnamed character from one of the shows would be jumping over to the other, citing it as “a huge event in the world of The Walking Dead.”

So, who might be making the move, then? Well, yesterday’s season finale of Fear heavily suggested that it’s going to be Michael Cudlitz’s Abraham Ford. And it all stems from the fact that the series is setting up a trip to Houston, Texas when it returns for its fourth season.

Firstly, the villainous Proctor John was extolling its virtues, describing it as an ideal spot because it has its own independent power grid. By the end of the episode, the group’s home at Broke Jaw Ranch is destroyed. So, might they take John’s advice and move from the Mexican-American border and go up to Houston? It certainly looks likely, seeing as Qaletaca was last seen heading “north.”

What’s so important about Houston, though? Well, that’s where Abraham lived with his wife and two children before tragedy struck and he found himself forging a new path with Eugene. The theory goes that Fear The Walking Dead could turn out to be set a few years prior to The Walking Dead‘s continuity, meaning that the Fear characters might bump into a slightly younger Abraham, still united with his family, when they venture to Houston.

This isn’t the first time that the character has been rumoured to be featuring in the crossover, either. Michael Cudlitz previously shared a cryptic Tweet which got people thinking that he may be returning to the TWD universe.

Likewise, Cudlitz was recently asked if he would be open to coming back as Abraham, and his answer focused on the potential to explore the character’s backstory. He suggested it could be shown through flashback, but a crossover on Fear The Walking Dead might be a more interesting way to do it, don’t you think?
