Did CBS Just Spoil Green Lantern’s Cameo In Justice League?

If Steppenwolf's dreary threat of world domination is anything to go by, Hal Jordan won't feature in Justice League whatsoever, leaving Batman and the rest of the gang - Superman included - to cancel the impending apocalypse on their own. But rumors continue to swirl that Green Lantern will definitely play a part in the Zack Snyder/Joss Whedon tentpole after all.

“No protectors here. No Lanterns. No Kryptonian. This world will fall, like all the others.”

If Steppenwolf’s dreary threat of world domination is anything to go by, Hal Jordan won’t feature in Justice League whatsoever, leaving Batman and the rest of the gang – Superman included – to cancel the impending apocalypse on their own. But rumors continue to swirl that Green Lantern will end up playing a part in the Zack Snyder/Joss Whedon tentpole after all.

Of course, there’s still been nothing to confirm that we’ll be seeing the beloved character show up, but it seems that new evidence is surfacing on a weekly basis all pointing to there being seven heroes on the team, and given that we know Warner Bros. has definite plans to introduce Green Lantern into the DCEU, and that he has a long history with the League in the comics, it’s not too crazy to think that he’ll make his debut in the upcoming film.

The latest piece of the puzzle is rather interesting, too. As you may have heard, The Big Bang Theory is partnering with Justice League for a contest that will award one lucky individual a chance to attend the world premiere. While that’s all well and good, it’s the method of entry that’s caught everyone’s attention. And that’s because fans are asked to spin a wheel that displays the logo of each member of the titular team. Check it out below:

SPECULATION: GL’s logo revealed in Big Bang promo?

Notice anything odd? Yes, that’s right. Among the logos for the likes of Batman, The Flash, Aquaman, Superman, Cyborg and Wonder Woman is also one for none other than Green Lantern. Of course, this could just be some sort of mix up by the marketing team. Or, it could even be intentional though not an indication that the character will show up in the film. Really, it’s hard to say, but the way we see it, it’s simply more fuel for the fire. A fire which is growing pretty quickly, might we add.

In fact, one popular theory doing the rounds is that Steppenwolf will brainwash Green Lantern to use him against the other heroes, similar to how Loki called upon the Tesseract to seize control of Clint Barton (AKA Hawkeye) in the first Avengers movie. Chalk that up as speculation for now, but there has been some evidence to support it and if true, then an evil Superman may be the least of the League’s worries.

Ready to go all in? Justice League debuts November 17th, at which point, all will be revealed. Until then, however, feel free to hit the comments section and let us know if you think we’ll be seeing Green Lantern in the film.
