Five months on from the release and subsequent success of Wonder Woman ($821 million) and Warner Bros. is beginning to double down on the film’s fledgling Oscar campaign by launching its official “For Your Consideration” page.

Submitted alongside Blade Runner 2049, Dunkirk and The LEGO Batman Movie, the Powers That Be have placed Wonder Woman in no less than 15 categories, including the prestigious Best Director (Patty Jenkins) and Best Picture. Diana Prince herself, Gal Gadot, is also in contention for Best Actress, having brought the Amazonian to life with real gusto earlier this year.

Connie Nielsen (Hippolyta), Robin Wright (Antiope) and Elena Anaya (Doctor Poison) are among those submitted for Best Supporting Actress, while Warner has also earmarked Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), David Thewlis (Ares), Danny Huston (General Ludendorff), and Ewen Bremner (Charlie) for Best Supporting Actor.

Also of note, Wonder Woman is being submitted in a whole host of technical categories, including Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, Best Film Editing, Best Costume Design, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Mixing, Best Sound Editing, Best Original Score, and Best Makeup and Hairstyling. The latter should be of particular interest to DC fans, considering that Suicide Squad famously took home the trophy at this year’s ceremony.

And though her wondrous origin movie exceeded all expectations, Patty Jenkins recently admitted that she never set out to make an Oscar-winning film, but rather one that tapped into Diana Prince’s core values: wisdom, power, courage, grace and of course, wonder.

When you’re making a movie it’s completely all-consuming; there are many things you don’t have time to think about. I certainly wasn’t thinking about the Oscars. It’s just not something you consider when you make these kinds of movies. I did the best that I could, but you kind of assume you’re not going to be considered for that kind of thing… But now, hearing that, I’m so flattered and stunned and super honored to be in the awards conversation.

Now available via Blu-ray and DVD, Wonder Woman has undoubtedly cemented its place as one of 2017’s greatest hits. It’ll be followed by Justice League in November, while film fans can also look forward to an untitled sequel in 2019.
