Marvel Boss Kevin Feige Outlines Thor: Ragnarok’s Biggest Easter Eggs

In anticipation of Thor: Ragnarok's imminent release, Marvel boss Kevin Feige has teased the location of those all-important Easter eggs.

Similarly to how The Collector’s lair was teeming with shiny trinkets and Easter eggs in Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige has confirmed that most of Thor: Ragnarok‘s major references will line the exterior walls of the Sakaran Palace.

While attending the film’s recent press junket in Beverly Hills, Feige fielded all manner of questions relating to Thor’s imminent adventure, the Incredible Hulk and the overarching Marvel Cinematic Universe. But when the conversation veered toward Ragnarok‘s Easter eggs, the MCU mainstay told fans to expect a number of cute nods to Marvel history when the God of Thunder descends upon Sakaar’s shimmering palace.

There might be some things in the trash piles. I mean, the biggest – the biggest Easter eggs are on the side of the Sakaran Palace – right, Taika? There are – there are previous Grandmaster champions that we see, as one for Hulk is being constructed, and those are all sort of Easter eggs for the deeper comic universe – that may or may not ever show up in the cinematic universe, but we thought it’d be fun to celebrate.

Given that a fairly major chunk of Thor: Ragnarok is set to unfold on Sakaar, where our Norse god begins to stake a claim for its gladiator arena, it’s not all that surprising to learn that the Grandmaster’s palace is the site in which Taika Waititi stowed the most Easter eggs.

In typical fashion, the director then joked about one of his own Easter eggs that didn’t make the cut: an actual egg.

And in the trash pile, there is one Easter egg, an actual egg. If you were in – yeah, I mean, it’s – it’s one of the small ones – well, it’s one of the tiny little chocolate ones, and it’s the wide shot.

Dubbed the most-anticipated movie of the fall season – ahead of Justice League, no less – Thor: Ragnarok has been booked in for release on November 3rd. Be sure to hang around after the finale of Taika Waititi’s threequel, too, as it’s been confirmed that Ragnarok will come packing not one, but two post-credits scenes.
