Warner Bros. may not be ready to peel back all the layers of Justice League – word is the review embargo won’t lift until November 15th, two days before release – but today, Pursue News (via CBM) has unearthed the next best thing: a truckload of high-res photos designed to bring us closer to the Zack Snyder epic.

In fact, we’d even go so far as to say that, barring the sensational trailers, this is our best look at Snyder’s tentpole to date, as the gallery below is swimming with action shots featuring the founding members – namely Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) – not to mention up-close looks at Justice League‘s supporting cast.

Neither Superman nor Steppenwolf feature in this particular media dump, but it’s fair to say that their presences are equally felt. Not only did we catch a glimpse of Amy Adams’ returning Lois Lane, but there are also multiple shots of a brooding Caped Crusader, who begins to piece together the world’s greatest superteam in order to ward off the apocalypse.

And say what you will about Zack Snyder’s directing style, but a handful of these screenshots are so visually arresting it’s almost as if they’ve been ripped straight from the comics. Also, see if you can spot the nod to Frank Miller’s Dark Knight Returns, as Commissioner Gordon (J.K. Simmons) looks to the Caped Crusader for guidance.

The Justice League of America will wage war against Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons when Zack Snyder’s DC epic opens on November 17th. It’s been tipped for a strong first weekend at the domestic box office, where analysts believe Snyder’s star-studded tentpole will land in the region of $110m-$120m – for the sake of comparison, Thor: Ragnarok has been pegged for a similar target.
