Justice League: The Official Collector’s Edition is proving to be the gift that keeps on giving.
Four days out from D-day, Warner’s official companion book has already unearthed pertinent details concerning the Man of Steel and J.K. Simmons’ Commissioner James Gordon, the latter of whom is said to be a much more world-weary and “badass” incarnation of Gotham’s unwavering lawman.
But the Justice League treasure trove hasn’t been exhausted yet; CBM has relayed a series of concept art that brings us closer to Zack Snyder’s star-studded tentpole. From the rooftops of Gotham to the murky depths of Atlantis, the gallery below covers all four corners of the DC mega-movie, while there’s also an early rendering of Steppenwolf, Ciaran Hinds’ otherworldly villain who’s descended upon Earth in search of the fabled Mother Boxes. There are three in total, and as you’ll be able to see, they’re scattered across Atlantis, Themyscira and the kingdom of man.
Pretty incredible, no? As one of the biggest comic book movies ever made, you can readily expect a slew of Justice League-related content to emerge after its arrival on Friday. And with reports of a two-hour mandate being placed on Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon, curious fans are beginning to wonder whether we’ll ever see a director’s cut of the DC team-up movie. Oh, one can dream.
On November 17th, Justice League will bring together five of DC’s finest – six, if we’re counting the resurrected Superman – to ward off a coming apocalypse, and we can hardly wait. Early reviews have hailed Zack Snyder’s blockbuster as a fun, but flawed addition to the DCEU, which is still a marked improvement over Batman V Superman and the car crash that was Suicide Squad.
