Could This Power Rangers Star Play The New Wolverine?

If you’ve seen Stranger Things, which, let’s face it, you likely have, you’ve probably had the thought: “Hey, this is a bit like X-Men.” Apparently, that’s something which digital artist/uberfan Boss Logic seems to have thought of as well, as he’s now taken the similarity and run with it, creating a bunch of images that reimagine the cast of Netflix’s hit sci-fi show as Marvel heroes.

Last week, he began with the obvious mash-up of Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven and Jean Grey AKA Phoenix, two hugely powerful telepaths. Other efforts are slightly more out there, but no less fun. In the gallery down below you’ll see, Mike (Finn Wolfhard) as Cyclops, Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) as Beast, Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) as Cable, Bob (Sean Astin) as Colossus, Joyce (Winona Ryder) as Mystique, Max (Sadie Sink) as Emma Frost, Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) as Cannonball and Hopper (David Harbour) as Sabretooth – which the actor himself approved of.

Now, we’ve got Boss Logic’s newest Stranger Things/X-Men merger, which takes Dacre Montgomery, who plays the detestable Billy Hargrove, and dresses him up as Wolverine.

This is an interesting one, as it’s an idea that isn’t totally out of the realm of possibility. Hugh Jackman famously sheathed his adamantium claws for good in this year’s Logan, leaving the iconic role up for grabs. It’s very possible that Fox will go for a younger actor to play the part next time and we shouldn’t forget that Montgomery’s star is very much on the rise. He previously proved his superhero chops in the Power Rangers reboot, in which he played Jason the Red Ranger, and continues to be a hot commodity in Hollywood.

However, there might be one small problem. That being that the actor may already be attached to another superhero property. Rumours started by Montgomery himself suggest that he could be in the running to join the DC Extended Universe as Dick Grayson in Chris McKay’s upcoming Nightwing. The director has since pointed out that no decision on the casting has yet been made, but you never know.

While we wait to hear more on where Montgomery ends up next, tell us, would you like to see him as Grayson or the new Wolverine? Have your say in the comments section down below.
