New Black Panther International Poster Shows Off T’Challa’s Upgraded Costume

Although pretty much everybody and their mother is frothing at the mouth waiting to see the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War later this week – and rightfully so – it’s important we not forget that Marvel Studios have one more stop on the road before arriving at the next big team-up flick. We are, of course, talking about Black Panther.

Admittedly, it’s quite easy to get swept up in the hype surrounding Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’ next grand adventure, but I have good reason to look forward to the King of Wakanda’s solo cinematic debut more than most other Marvel films to be released over the course of the next two years.

Obviously, anybody who saw him damn near steal the show in Captain America: Civil War has reason enough to buy a ticket, but odds are that Black Panther will feature more than just great action scenes and fight choreography. In short, someone who is both warrior and king brings something new to the Marvel Cinematic Universe – and there’s also those stunning visual effects teased by trailers that we’ll have to feast our eyes on.

As has been the case since the Dark Knight rocked some new duds in 1992’s Batman Returns, we as a moviegoing audience have come to expect our superheroes to don a new costume in each subsequent outing. Naturally, T’Challa is not exempt from this rule, as evidenced by a new international poster showing off his sweet, upgraded threads. Of course, debate will forever rage on when it comes to which of his looks reigns supreme, but you have to admit he knows how to dress for an occasion.

Black Panther opens in theaters on February 16, 2018.
