T’Challa Stands Tall On New Black Panther Poster

Although pretty much everybody and their mother is frothing at the mouth waiting to see Avengers: Infinity War – and rightfully so – it’s important we not forget that Marvel Studios have one more stop on the road before arriving at the next big team-up flick. Admittedly, it’s quite easy to get swept up in the hype surrounding Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’ next grand adventure, but I have good reason to look forward to the King of Wakanda’s solo cinematic debut more than most other Marvel films to be released over the course of the next two years.

Obviously, anybody who saw him damn near steal the show in Captain America: Civil War has reason enough to buy a ticket, but odds are that Black Panther will feature more than just great action scenes and fight choreography. In short, someone who is both warrior and king brings something new to the Marvel Cinematic Universe – and there’s also those stunning visual effects teased by trailers that we’ll have to feast our eyes on.

In recent memory, we’ve seen one stunning poster after another find its way online as T’Challa’s solo outing creeps up on us, especially those of the international variety. This time, though, we’re treated to one that adheres to a certain template Marvel Studios has long honored, showcasing key members of the film’s cast. Standing above them all, of course, is the titular character himself on a piece that this writer thinks could one day be used as Blu-ray cover art.

Black Panther opens in theaters on February 16, 2018.
