The countdown to Avengers: Infinity War has begun.
In fact, one could argue that Marvel fans have been counting down the days to Joe and Anthony Russo’s blockbuster for months – years, even – but with the first-look teaser now out in the wild, not to mention all of those inspired posters, Infinity War is finally beginning to feel like a real, tangible movie, and not some fabled crossover that’s essentially out of reach.
And so, once Black Panther enjoys its time in the sun – look for a new preview to air during tonight’s College Football Playoff National Championship on ESPN – all eyes in the film industry will begin to turn toward Avengers: Infinity War, arguably the biggest and most historic superhero movie ever put on celluloid.
In honor of that feat and the MCU’s 10-year legacy, an artist by the name of ‘Rudy Ao’ has produced the latest fan-made poster for the pic, which assembles some of Marvel’s finest under the looming shadow of Thanos. Check it out in the gallery down below, along with a few others, and see what you think.
Brought to life once again by the great Josh Brolin – expect him to also feature as Cable in Deadpool 2, one of 2018’s other unmissable comic book movies – Thanos will wage war against Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in his search of the Infinity Stones. He won’t be alone, of course, as Infinity War also heralds the introduction of the so-called Black Order – namely Corvus Glaive, Ebony Maw, Proxima Midnight, and Cull Obsidian – so it’s fair to say that the Avengers are up against it.
And in the interest of raising the stakes, we understand the Russo Brothers fully intend on killing off one or two major characters across both Infinity War and the untitled Avengers 4. They’ll hit theaters within the space of 12 months, which is a one-two punch that ought to leave even the most lapsed comic book fan dizzy with excitement.
