It’s Bill Skarsgård Still Has Nightmares Of Pennywise The Clown

Four months after its initial release, turns out Pennywise actor Bill Skarsgård still experiences nightmares of It's monster clown.

Turns out you’re not the only one experiencing nightmares of a certain, transdimensional clown.

In a candid chat with Entertainment Weekly, Pennywise actor Bill Skarsgård admitted that, even four months after the film’s initial release, It‘s monstrous demon continues to haunt his dreams. And you can’t exactly blame him.

As is illustrated by the bonus content included on It‘s Blu-ray, Skarsgård really sunk his teeth into the ancient character, resulting in a twisted, deeply disturbing rendition of Stephen King’s abomination. Heck, it was even reported that Bill Skarsgård’s performance made the children of It break down in tears during the middle of a take, so it’s no surprise that Pennywise stayed with the actor long after the credits rolled.

I was home, done with the movie, and I started having very strange and vivid Pennywise dreams. Every night, he came and visited. It was in the shape of either me dealing with him, sort of Pennywise as a separate entity of me, and then also me as Pennywise in circumstances that I didn’t appreciate. Like, I’m Pennywise and I’m really upset that I’m out in public and people are looking at me.

And Andy Muschetti’s sleeper hit is merely the beginning. Granted, New Line’s hard-R reboot was always envisioned as a two-part story, with It: Chapter Two expected to reunite the Losers’ Club late next year.

True to Stephen King’s original tome, it’ll take place roughly 27 years after its predecessor, just as Pennywise begins his second (and presumably final) reign of terror. Buckle up, dear readers, for we haven’t seen the last of Pennywise just yet. And neither has Bill Skarsgård.

It: Chapter Two is expected to begin filming sometime this year ahead of a release on September 6th, 2019.
